I've heard that the efficiency drops below the point where baffle width = wavelength.
How big is the baffle on the PHL 3451 10" mid? what efficiency do you get, and what frequency range do you cover?
300 Hz has a wavelength of about 3ft 7in. I was considering a fixed baffle of say 2 ft (for when not in use), with folding 'wings' about 1 ft long on either side (with say wing nuts to hold in place) to get the baffle to a 4 ft width for good efficiency. I don't know if this would compromise the sound in some way. I've seen a photo on a Dutch website of a full range open baffle using this approach on a larger scale.

I was beginning to explore TL options for there reduced rolloff and better dynamics. I've heard briefly of the Karlson type coupler, is it a type of TL??

The JBL 2235H 15's sound very promising. Couldn't quickly locate their pricing - how much are they each?
