Re: high end wide range bass drivers

Yay! someone with similar tastes in audio.

My quest for a high impact sound system has let me to
pick the stage accompany SA8535 isodynamic tweeter, originally
Raven 2 was on the list.

Then I finally determined after months of listening tests
that I like the PHL2520 to mate with this tweeter, it's
an 8" midrange.

This is a serious high impact system. Amazing sound
when using 200w on each driver fully active crossovers.

Eventually, the plans for what was once a simple design
has ballooned into a monstrosity. see link.

The plan was to use 4 tweets and 4 mids per cabinet.
Orginally I had two 12's for midbass and one 18" for
woofer and then another seperate subwoofer. Then Mr. Wizard
on Madisound cattle prodded me to consider the Lambda 15"
woofers as replacements for the 12" midbass and also
it would replace the 5 way design to 4 way. But he really
feels I should just use dual 15" and make my main cabinets
smaller, ie, dual 15" below the array of tweeters/mids.
I haven't received my Lambda TD15 yet for testing, but he
claims it's the best sounding 15 he's heard, it's designed
to run up to 2khz so it should operate very well
60hz to as high as 400hz for my application then get a subwoofer,
perhaps 15" or 18" super x-max.
