Doug S., please correct me if I am wrong (as I suspect you know the full answer):

My understanding is that speaker development in Canada is sponsored by the government; that the NRC is a nationally funded project, and that this national sponsoring is a big part of the reason for the level of speaker development that goes on in Canada.

My suspicion is that there may be similar incentives in Denmark, considering the level of Social programs in their country.

Do not get me wrong here, I am in favor of Government Incentives in R and D for small business development and advancement. I think their is a big problem in this country when it comes to Government spending on innovation and R and D, and we are paying for it in many high tech fields.
