I am not sure how or what I would exactly classify Larsen speakers, I have a pair of the Model 4's and coming from the current line of Ohm Walsh CLS type driver speaker, are very similar in soundstage, dispersion. I enjoy these very much.
I also have a pair of the Direct Acoustics Silent Speaker 2's, and these are very similar in sound quality to Shahinian Arcs, only on the cheap. But still an extremely enjoyable speaker with a very wide and open soundstage.
Both of these speakers sound more like "live performances" to my ears, more so than most direct radiated box speakers. Not for everyone's taste though obviously! The Larsen speakers are based on the Sonab/Ortho-Acoustic principals of Stigg Carlsson. Tim
