I have a friend who just picked up the new Quad monitors (the little ones, I can't remember the number but they are around the 1K mark). He has owned Paradox 1's, Spendor 3/5's, and a dozen other brands the names of which escape me at the moment. It would be fun to compare the VR1's to the Ellis 1801's and the Quads. I have made some changes to my system since you were over and I feel it is slightly better than when you came by. Not much, but slightly better.It would be great to spend some time with the three sets of speakers and evaluate them on various program material. Give me an email when you have a chance!
