RE: Quad speakers with Mac Amp

I know that later Quads have a diode bridge that if overdriven will cause the amp to blow its output fuses (like it did on my CJ 250WPC) or trigger the amps protection circuit if it has one. I know 988's and 989's had this but I don't know if 57's or 63's have that.

I also found that high power was a waste on them and they always sounded better to me with tubes. Just my experience.
