For many years I have been using Quad IIs with Lowther speakers (PM6A in original Acousta cabinets). Aside from the addition of a subwoofer, everything else in my system has been upgraded, and now I would like to improve upon the speakers, if possible. Although limited by the amplifiers, it seems to me that the options are (1) a better/modern single driver/horn type, such as the Lamhorn (2) electrostatic, such as the ESL 57 (which was designed for the Quad IIs) or 63 (3)dual concentric, such as Tannoy (my questions about these are in my post below). I listen to all kinds of music, but find myself favouring chamber music, lieder, jazz & folk because of my system. Any experienced advice would be greatly appreciated.
