That is hysterical! Digital HD! Wow! Do the tubes driving their broadcast antennas know that?!? Would it be a surprise if they were using fiber to carry the signal to their transmitting station? Better yet, they can just encode to MP3 and stream their output across the internet to the transmitter!
I have been just disgusted by the compression that the stations apply to their cds. As if the disks weren't mastered with enough compression and woofling midbass boost, then you add in the station compressor and there is nothing but loud/off/loud even on the quietest of passages.
What it amounts to is that I have grown to not give a *%#p about radio in general, especially in an automobile. For the car, just give me a cd player and a pair of door speakers and that's all that I need.
It is no wonder my musical tastes are getting more and more eccentric - the drivel on the radio is ear-shattering.
That is really special that you have a station in your area that does the "side" on the classic album. I hope they keep that up. Maybe it will catch on.
Sincerely,
Sarg
