Hmmmm. Interesting question. In roughly old to new:
The "Big" original Klipschorns - at least in regard to pure dynamic swing and effortless bass (I was not that thrilled with some of the, ahem, "horniness" of the upper mids and lower highs, however).
Magnepan Tympany (spelling?) IVs(?) - My 1st taste of extreme high-end; at least as far as orchestral works are concerned... WOW! (they were HUGE in size and presentation)
Dahlquist DQ-10s - As far as midrange was concerned a total classic (not the last word in refinement, however).
ADS L-1230s(?) - very impressive with their chameleon-like personality in regard to the music and from top to bottom, very nice.
Aerial 10Ts - I was utterly floored by these guys... they seemed to do *everything* right (well, nearly). Fell in love with the entire line.
Hales Concept 5s - Wow! What a midrange; another top to bottom performer losing just an edge in regard to midbass richness.
Audio Artistry Dvorak - when setup just right, as far as mids are concerned, *poof* the musicians appear. Just that simple.
Of course my taste may have (most probably) changed over the years and nothing I heard has been perfect, but these are the standout performers I heard (my listening venue had been very limited unfortunately).
Happy Listening!
DeeCeeP.S. Should also note I heard more than one of these go from "ho-hum" to "holy crap" by changing amplification.
