I had the pleasure of having listening sessions on 3 separate occassions at different audio stores back in the late 80's and every time felt I was nearer to the music than I've felt with any other speaker. It ultimately prompted me to by the Celestion SL6Si, which was more in my price range and also a great speaker. Also, the SL700 was rather inefficient and would have required expensive amplification, which pushed it further out of my price range.
