these are the amps i've heard so far with quad esl's:h.h. scott 222 (pp el84)
h.h. scott lk-72 (pp 7591)
cary 300 sei (se 300b)
vtl deluxe 90/90 (kt90s wired in triode, around 35 watts)
47 lab gaincard-copy
quicksilver 8417
quicksilver kt88 (genalex)
quicksilver kt88 triode-wired (around 30 watts)the best so far: the gaincard copy
on a sidenote, though...although i like the quads, i would never be able to live with the fear of arcing (encourages neurotic audiophilia), the beaminess and the limited dynamics.
