The Coda products do have a bit of a rep for some graininess and stridency. A freind of mine bought one, a/b's it with a Sim audio amp, and kept the sim audio. He said even broken in the coda had some harshness about it.As far as solid state goes, I also think the Monarchy would be a better choice.
