This morning I decided to wheel out the Cornwalls and give them another shot at redemption. I replaced the Kimber with heavy guage monster and bass response picked up considerably. Next, I removed my Elco Gold IC's, porous teflon encased solid gold ribbon, and replaced them with Monster copper IC's. Presto, the over-lively prescence was reduced. The 15" woofer has awaken to provide that elusive slam I was searching for. A completely different animal. I will now give them a serious listening evaluation.Who would have thought that Monster Cable had a second life in this day and age? I guess these speakers were designed without exotic metals in mind. I hate to completely give in to the arguments that the cable industry employs a lot of snake oil.
