Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I don't know how they do that... my current speaker has a Richlite PlyBoo composite front panel...

That's a shot of a test piece for a front panel. It's a one-inch composite of furniture-grade vertical Bamboo fillets (0.75 inch) and front and rear cladding in 0.125 Richlite.

To get the Richlite lumber to make two front panels costs... $192.00.

So, yeah, that speaker is probably not furniture grade and definitely not Richlite clad, but still...

Pencils are being sharpened in a serious manner, somewhere.
