Well now since you mention live music as reference, I certainly havent heard any hifi system regardless of cost that sounds remotely like it. If we set the bar to be that high, we might as well concede that everything actually suck. :)Im sure the Caldera doesnt sell not because of its looks but because of its price tag, and most likely due to the mind boggling rating system of Stereophile that landed the Virgo at Class A and the Caldera at Class B. (and to make it even more complicated, the Caldera generally has better reviews than the even more pricey Medea!!!)
I dont see the point of making new speakers that sound like the old ones - that would be a huge waste of effort. Why not just change the name of the speakers and let it remain the same. But I'm sure some would still claim the older ones still sound better hehehe. I guess its part of human nature. :)
