eric...you are correct about them actually being 845 amps but with the discussion centering on SET amps i thought i would include them in the conversation.their sound allows the music to just float effortlessly with the most beautiful mids and highs immagineable. they are very fast and the bass is also superb. they were made to be able to drive most real world speakers easily. they can do that...i have not heard any amp/amps that come close to reproducing all frequencies as naturally as they do and that includes most of what are considered the best of both SET amd SS amps.since the original review by adam goldfine at positive feedback magazine they have been upgraded and are even better then what he and mr. white, at stereotimes thought were superb.their reviews are on the chalice audio website..they are expensive. they are ~ $ 79k / pair. not in everyone's budget but for those who do want 'the best'....these are certainly in a small handful of amps, whether tubes or ss, that can be considered as such...hope this helps..if you live anywhere near virginia you ..or anyone interested..can certainly come and listen...
