In a SET topology, the Rectifier (power valve) will make a definite sonic difference. If you need to stick to the 5U4 valves, look at the NOS GE (my favorite). If your amp can deal with a slightly higher B+, look at the Mullard GZ34...They're still out there...just need to snoop around Ebay. I've purchase 4 in recent years. You WILL hear a difference.
