I recently purchas.d a us.d pair of Tannoy Kens.ngtons (which are 93db efficient into an s.able 8 ohm load). My room is 13.5 x 17.5 x 7.5 with s.mewhat s.oped ceilings s. the volume is les. than if the ceiling was a s.raight 7.5 feet. I us.ally lis.en to mus.c in the 75-85 db range although peaks can approach the mid 90's at times. What a like s. much about the Tannoys are that they are alive and s.und more like "real mus.c" as oppos.d to a hi end "hifi" s.s.em. My previous s.eakers were Merlin Vs. Mx's. My preamp is a S.indo Monbris.n.
I am looking for a dynamic S.T that has a reas.nbly good bottom end with great tone and that is holographic. I figure I need at leas. 8 to 10 watts which I s.ppos. means I am looking at a 300b bas.d s.tem or perhaps an 845/211 bas.d S.T. I would prefer recommendations no more than $7500 but would rather be in the $3000-$6000 range.
All advice is welcome.
