I tried the JJ 2A3-40 with 200V, 250V, 290V and 340V across the tube with 50, 60, 70 and 80mA respectively into 6k6 p-p load as push-pull output pair from 50Hz upward.
Compared with old stock 2A3 at 200/250V I found them to have a touch more mid-bass and a little less upper mid than old stock 2A3, HF just about the same. At higher plate dissipation they just play louder and with more dynamics which is probably a result of my not so efficient loudspeakers, the basic sound character remained the same. I dont have any real 300B types to compare with, unfortunately.
