Sorry but since I never have heard the "original" Neiro I can not comment. I've owned a KSL-Neiro, a KSL-Ongaku, and currently use everyday a KSL-Kegon. The KSL-Kegon, to my ears, is the most transparent, musical of the Kondo amps. Maybe it is all that silver, who knows and once heard you don't care, you just listen and ENJOY :-)Steve
