My first hand experience using Welborne DRD300B 8W/ch SET and Alon Circe (98dB/w/m, 6R load) was interesting. First, the midrange was superb. So smooth, round and liquid, especially with small ensembles. The HF was a little rolled off, but "good enough" for me. The main issue you need to deal with in a potential mis-match like this is LF. This performance was not acceptable for me. However, with the addition of a sub, crossed ~80Hz, the overall sound performance was wonderful. So based on my experience, this match can work, depending on your approach to compensating LF. Good luck.scott
