If you have speakers that are at least 92db efficient then the Kit 1 could very well be the most enjoyable amplifier you ever own.
Brian's assembly manual is excellent, with step by step instructions, parts identification, photos of each task and he has worked out all the bugs.
The Kit 1 has almost endless upgrade possibilities and is based on the same design as the megabuck Audio Note 300B SET amplifiers. You can change pretty much every part for a better one to find just the sound that you like best.
It is the ideal project to develop your electronic building skills, including soldering. I've found Brian to be endlessly patient, he answers emails very promptly, and even will spend time on the phone helping you through your purchasing decisions. I wonder how he finds time for his family. Did I say he is always cheerful.
I certainly can't remember hearing a better amplifier. A kit just shouldn't be this good.
