Thanks for all your great responses! One of the things I like about the members of this forum is the hands-on experience, in many cases designing and building more than one amp. It lends the discussions here more credibility, IMO.So here is what I have decided to do: I have been reading and researching everything I can get my hands on regarding SETs. "Paralysis by analysis" is beginning to rear its ugly head. Reading further will yield no more than incremental information. Time to move on to the next step, go for it, and start building. I have a local electronics tech / friend who can help teach me to avoid electrocuting myself. Seems that a kit from Bottlehead, Welborne or DIYhifi will be a good start for me. Will begin with a 300b circuit.
more to follow....
