It's a low voltage, low impedence, high current, medium output triode originally used in Russian Mig radar systems. (The big three dimple tubes in the picture) There are many different amps out there using the tube. Some OTL, some SET, some push pull. A single tube will give you around 18 watts. There are many DIY designs out there using it including the Borbely. Built amps using the tube come from Joule Electra, Audio Mirror, BAT, Lamm, Supratek, ASL, and many others. The 6C33 tubes are inexpensive compared to the little 1-8 watters too, around $25.00 each. The amp prices that use the tube go from DIY to $20,000 or more.Should be plenty of power for most people with A-7 Altecs. Could be a match made in heaven if you really dig your speakers.
