Hi Jose,Wow, interesting topology on your amp! I've always wanted to try schemes like fixed bias and direct coupling. But don't have enough time to do an adequate job on the bench. Bravo to you! Besides that, a KISS on a 45 is a such a superior music-maker, I can't drag my ___ from the listening chair.
Sorry no pics. I wanted a two stage design. I have a 76/6EU8 pentode ccs'ed line stage, which is transparent as is, but I'm gonna incorporate a Pimm depletion mode CCS in the 76 plate circuit and, hopefully, call it a day.
I'm running the 6V6 purely as a no-feedback pentode (shock!) at between 6V and 7V cathode bias, 200V or so on the plate, 100V or so on the grid, giving me, IIRC, 21 or 22 mA's pV, and 2 or 3mA g2V. It's been a long time, so don't take those measures as gospel. I take the output from the plate RC loaded with a 6Kohm WW via a .47uF/600V Auricap (great cap!) into the 45 operated conventionally, self-biased at 35 mA or so (1.5K cathode resistor). The amp came into its own when I added a g2 cap to ground, which, I suppose, stablized the grid V and provided additional HT filtering. I had used a 50uF GE oiler, but I moved to a 20uF Axon . . . the heavens opened up and God cried tears of joy, if you catch my drift.
I'm not finished with the design, but don't anticipate changing it anytime too soon. Again, a superior music-maker.
Sorry so long and regards,
Jim A.
