Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

I pulled out my guitar, remembered I only knew four chords, put it back again.

Yes, I knew what you meant when you said `sugary`, but my reference to the term in another context regarding valves may have confused you. It`s a very fine line between injecting real emotion into a track, and over-egging the pudding which is what you may think of some of Eva Cassidy`s stuff. For me, the likes of Mariah Carey and Celine Dion cross this line (why sing one note when three will do!), but for me and many others, Eva Cassidy gets it spot on. There`s a certain humanity that she injects into a song, which you either believe is genuine or forced/insincere - knowing a little about her character and upbringing I`m pretty sure it`s the former. As far as production goes, I feel that the less the better - live is always preferred over studio. I`ve never actually heard Sarah Vaughan, but your comments as well as others on the `Music` Forum have convinced me that it`s time I did. Back to the SETs then (before someone tells us we`re on the wrong Forum), what do you use, and can you state catagorically that vocals are in no way `sugary` in the `rose-tinted` sense? Also relating to my earlier posting way down this page, how`s ya bass den man?
