I did worry about making that post...I just said it should be included in the list of possibilities, not that it always explains the unexplainable. Perhaps most of the community is better able than I am to separate true belief from just true, but I find it quite difficult and quite interestingActually, I think that point you made is very valid and, I too, feel it is interesting as well, and worth some serious thought. Actually, each and every one of us should be turning this very point over somewhere in the back of our skulls every time we decide to do some analytical listening.
Indeed, I once thought verdana text to be the hot ticket, providing a more insightful glimpse into the soul of the prose...now, I think it just an imposter, attracting attention without any merit.
I want to get to the basics. Simplicity.
Courier! No pretense! The text of math... I am FREE!
I've had the same reaction when mentioning my musical loves and hates, so I don't try anymore. It's kind of like posting some favorite philosophical/psychological puzzlers (see previous paragraph) - basically, this is a hifi list; music and psychology are both somewhat off topic. Weird, since we're all more or less music lovers.
I dont think music or psychology (or better yet, Philosophy)should be off topic at all in this list, especially regarding how the mind/perceptions relate to the equipment that supposedly IS the subject. Context IS important. And as I said elsewhere, the music should be more than a superfluous tool to measure differences between the gear.
