I picked up a pair of TL-D1's recently, and so far, I think they are fantastic. I've only owned them for a week, so my impressions are still forming. For the type of music that I listen to, jazz, chamber, singer/songwriter types, I have found them to be thrilling in their immediacy, dynamic scale, and ability to convey emotional elements of the performance. I wanted a more sensitive pair of speakers to use with lower powered amps, including SET designs. Right now, I'm using an Audio Zone integrated amp, while I await the return of my Eico HF-81 from being modified by Sam Kim. I'm also awaiting a 45SE integrated amp from Jeff Korneff, so I should be able to offer some direct feedback to your question in about a month. I am extremely happy with these speakers and am particularly anxious to hear them with my SET amp. Feel free to drop me a line if I forget to post a followup.
