You've got the wrong speaks. Here's a cheap speaker experiment. Get some of the 3" Radio Shack Fostex FE103 clones. They're $12 each. Buy just one if you like. Or you could try the larger RS full-rangers. Mount it on a 2'x2' open baffle, 3/4" birch ply. 2'x3' if you want more bass. Mount it a below center, about 75/25 from the top/bottom. Put the board on the floor, and lean it against some books or similar so that it angles slightly backwards. Sit on the floor and get up close to it, less than five feet. Use some CAT-5 wire as speaker wire. It's at Radio Shack for about $0.35/foot. Make sure its the teflon/solid copper stuff. Take one run for each channel. Keep them short, like four feet or less. Eight feet of speaker wire will cost you abot $3. Twist the four colored wires together for your hot and the four white wires together for your ground. Solder it directly to the driver, or just twist it around the flange if you don't want to solder.Congratulations, you're a speaker builder. Put on some easygoing acoustic music. Diana Krall might be nice. Metallica won't work. You aren't going to get any bass below 100hz, but the midrange. . . .will be very, very nice. You can do it for about $40 a pair. If you like what you hear go on from there.
