I have not heard the Yamo, and I'm sure there are other things it has perhaps also to make it good, but I would not buy any stock in it.
The medium is the message.
A pentode driving a 45 has the potential of a very good sound. You can say when you hear it, that sounds real good. It gives a very full pleasing sound. It can sound very good in many types of settings so it has some versatility to it. It is good commercially because it can sound good in most circumstances. It is beguiling.
People can say that everyone has a different cup of tea. Maybe it's not my cup of tea, that's all. But I know it is more than that.
