Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

Re: "information available"

I sincerely believe that Western Electric has been outdone in the 300b department. I think TJ is really putting out superior sounding tubes for sets the way I like them. I'm impressed with all of TJ's tubes. I am even more impressed with some We equipment of the past.

I could sugar coat that, and I can even realize that I have misjudged the current product because I have not taken into account enough of the variables. But that is how I feel right now about their tube.

I plug the TJ's in and I really don't worry about that aspect of the amp or the sound. I work from there.

Sound is too complicated for me to take anyone's word and I wouldn't want anyone to take my word on things either. I have to hear something for myself to get an idea. It is just nice when there is agreement with others on the variables and this was the case in that particular review.

But I really do relate to your saying that what, or suggest that what, is taking place in the homes may be better, at least subjectively and satisfyingly, then what may be taking place outside of audiophile's homes. That has been my experience so far that what is in the homes seems to sound better than what is in the shows.

We may be living with the equipment over longer periods and that may be an important factor in this whole thing.
