I don't know about the new production WE tubes but the '95 vintage seems to be worth the money. I've been using a pair of '95 WE 300Bs for over a year. Recently, I decided to try the JJs because they are regarded by many here to be a "sleeper"; a tube of excellent quality. The JJ 300B is indeed everything you would want in a tube. It's built very well, it has great bass weight, treble extension without sounding papery, believable dynamics, and it's inexpensive too.But after putting many hundreds of hours on the JJs, why do I always miss something that's not there? Something that's only recovered by re-installing my poorly constructed, technically flawed WE300Bs. I don't get it. The JJs satisfy my mind but the WEs satisfy my soul.
If the new production WE 300Bs are as good or better than my '95s, then I better start saving my money.
