I think the review that was done in the past on the 300b tubes is still the best analysis. The score each tube was given seemed appropriate, and it seemed like the ratings were appropriately proportioned. In other words, I think a tj got around an 80 and a WE around a 60. Kind of a shocking thing for the reviewer to rate them this way but... Someone should have a reference for it.I think the TJ's won out and a couple of tubes beat the WE. Ther emight be some other costly brands out now that are not in that review.
The WE sure does beat out the EH which is an inexpensive, really not bad tube.
I think the WE definitely has the best tone and reliability. I think they may get better and better as the hours and years are put on them.
But is it an upgrade to the TJ's. I would not say so.
But of course it depends on what might fit the best, and what you are looking for.
