I asked my friend John the builder, your question and he said:"well hammond did it for 30 plus years and their amps sounded fine... and so do these webster sets... so somebody's theory is wrong lol theories are only just theories... hearing is knowing.."
And we did one comparison, and with the conductive chassis, the sound seemed to gel just right, whereas with the other, there seems to be more flux in the gel of the sound. It was harder to get the amp to gel quite right, and I don't believe it was quite attained to the level of the old vintage conductive chassis.
Whatever type of conductive metal chassis they are, these vintage ones, we have come to feel they are important.
