Pentode output impedance is much higher than triode connected which has lower output impedance. Hence for a transformer with 5k:8 normally for el34. the stepdown impedance would be less in triode mode as the output impedance is lower. Hence i guess better control of the music. For the pentode to have lower impedance feedback must be used.
