I was using that phrase as sort of tongue in cheek. I am not a big fan of B&W's but, a person can do alot worse. Those spakers generally are not good for tubes and certainly not SET amps. I should have said don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole (more accurate) but that is not as funny a phrase. Not offense meant. My Merlin do o.k. with 8W based on my room, my music and at the levels I listen. Welborne and Wavelength provides a list of SET friendly speakers.
