If you're going to try a SET, I'd look at something based on the 845 tube where you'd get around 20 watts. ASL has one that's gotten good reviews. However, there's nothing like power. I'd used 300B amps with more efficent and easier to drive speakers and they simply give out. Putting an Atma-Sphere S30 in the system was a real ear opener, greater dynamics, cleaner, better all around. The SET amps might better it slightly in the mid range sweetness and texture, but it's very subtle and the other advantages far outweigh that minor advantage of the SET amps. The M60 by all accounts should be better and are more powerful that the S30. You probably should take to Ralph or try the Atma-Sphere users group forum (there's a link in the FAQ) to find out how it might work with your speakers. Unless you're planning to go to more efficent speakers in the future, SETs will have limitations for you.
