Jeff,Check out this tube if you like the 45. It comes close enough to the 45 with more power. One friend commented that the TJ mesh plate does not have command of the bass like some other 300Bs. I don't have much experience with various 300B types but can say this is not a concern for me. BTW, my tube of pleasure for the last few years has been the 45. The 71A as an output is just too light and polite for my tastes.
