Home SET Asylum

Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

Should we direct DIY posters here to the Tube DIY Asylum?

There are a number of SET fanatics here at the Asylum who are not interested in circuit variations, transformer differences, home-made amps, etc. They suggested that since DIY posts were drowning out the non-DIY SET posts here, a separate DIY Asylum for all tube amp topologies (SET, PP, OTL, etc.) be created. A good number of SET'ers agreed, and Rod M. added the Tube DIY Asylum. All DIY and circuit-component-related posts should theoretically now be at the Tube DIY Asylum.

I've noticed that since a dedicated Tube DIY Asylum was created, a lot of the recent posts appearing here at the SET Asylum are DIY-related. This effective splits the DIY camp into two groups. Where do we draw the (gray, fuzzy) line between DIY and non-DIY posts?

How do people feel about trying to keep all DIY posts in the DIY Asylum? Or, should part or all of SET DIY be here at the SET Asylum?

Of course, since only 1 or 2 non-DIY SET threads per day (usually very short ones) were appearing here recently, should we consider other changes?
