I'll be happy to re-evaluate the Valve should it be provided.

All I can say - the pair I had and came brand new, most recent production from a reputable and reliable UK Valve dealer. They had at least 60 - 70 Hours run in and where tried in two different amplifiers. In both cases the impresseions where as mentioned.

As to the "non recommendation". The JJ is a rather expensive Valve. Not as much as the WE, but compared to much of the competition in my test it was near the top for price and at the bottom for sound.

I did include the remarks that depending on system synergy and preferences the view may be reversed. All I can say is that to my ears the JJ did not "bring it". Given your comments on the Sovtek, which I felt to be WAY more balanced, maybe in your system (Amp/Speakers) a rather bright sounding Valve works beast? You won't like the WE then, but you'll probably lobve the copper anode Valve Art.
