Ok, Now cover your ears with the blanket and tell us how that sounds. :-)
Try placing the blanket behind the seating area if there is a wall just
behind it. You may have audio reflections from there.
One other factor with poor imaging may that your audio signal polarity some
how inverted compared to the speakers. That is the only other thing I can think of.
