Most NOS tubes are pretty robust. Meshplate tubes are another matter. A friend of mine experienced very short life with EML meshplates even though he biased the amp for quite low dissipation. This was a while ago, so reliability might have improved.
I run EML meshplate 2A3s. In my amp, they have lasted quite long, but, when I loaned them to a friend, we saw the tube flash and begin to make noises after a short period of usage, so we had to shut the amp down. Again, the bias on his amp was set for fairly low dissipation. Again, I would say that meshplates are not rugged. But, they sound REALLY good.
I would recommend that you talk to George Lenz at Tubes USA. He sells these tubes in this country and is quite conservative in his advice. He delivers fantastic service.
