Cooler looking and...

the sound is terrific. I have a pair from the original run and they sound much like the solid plate EML 45, but a little more transparent and open. I would buy a pair of the new ones, except I have several pairs of the solid plates and the pair of the globes. With my usage, that is probably a lifetime supply. Also, $600 is a lot to pay for a pair of 45's. But they are very, very cool.
