Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

6SN7/26/45

Can somebody tell me the origins of this circuit?

And who's currently building them (if anybody)?

[njjohn - I know you love it. I've read your posts saying you prefer it to the 717-45 circuit of the Yamamoto 45 (which I assume means you prefer it to Yammy 45!). The Yammy is a helluva amp, definitely amongst the best I've ever heard, so that's saying something.

I know you also like the 6SN7/76/300B circuit. I don't know if you're referring to the JE Labs circuit but there is a JE Labs circuit with those tubes. I recently picked up a Tube Audio Lab JE Labs 6SN7/76/300B and it is hands-down my favorite 300B amp, ever. This experience has increased my respect for: 1) JE Labs, 2) Min's work, 3) "Not-simplest-as-possible amplifiers". Nother words, amps with one too many gain stages, that you ought not need, but which somehow lead to a better sounding amp!]
