Q:"...with 2 1.2k ohm 10 watt resistors (that are also paralled)..."[Quest]: Wrong! you should "string" those resistors in series to form a 3Kohm 10Watt resistor. Instead you have hooked them up into 0.6Kohms. (1.2K paralleled)
Plse check all your component values before you proceed.
Oh and BTW: if all else fails, blame it on your 88dB/1W/1m speakers. They are not "efficient" enough...
