Hi all. Just a quick update: the amp builder reckons that the Aikido design is the way to go (http://www.tubecad.com/2004/blog0011.htm) and also recommends using 9-pin rather than the octals. So the current options to combine the 300B with being considered are:
1. 5687 driver, 12AU7 signal - used in Ayon Audio 300B
2. 5687 driver, 5965 (12AV7) signal - used in Loth Silbatone JI-300B
3. 12BH7A driver, 12AU7 signal - used in Air Tight ATM-300
I suppose there remains the option of using the octal driver, in which case there is option:
4. 6SN7 driver, 9-pin signal tube
What do you guys think, in particular in that Aikido circuit?
