6J5-6SN7-300B. (No 12AU7s ever). Change the 6J5 to a Tung Sol 6P5 and use a cathode resistor about 80% higher in resistance vs the 6J5. Just bias the 6P5 correctly. I like Sylvania 6SN7GTA 'Y' plate. I never built a 300B though. Just know good sounding tubes. The 300B needs a good driver. Hopefully the 6SN7 has enough overhead with regard to output voltage.
