:) I agree 100%. The 2A3 is more suited for classical music. I keep on wondering all the time how different setups classical and jazz require. Eventually, almost every diyer friend of mine is into jazz, and I have found that their recordings do not sound good on my (classical-voiced) setup, and classical does not have its tone and depth when listened to on a jazz-geared chain.I have not heard any of the tubes you listed; and the only 45 I heard was driven by 717A (the Yamamoto).
I have heard so much about the 26 - 45 combination. There must be something to it. Fortunately I have of both tubes, and enough spare parts to toy with. In a couple of months I shall hear it. :) Wish I had a day or two off every week......... ;).
