I built one channel of a 45 DC coupled amp and the clever of me switched the plate and grid connections of the 45 tubes. Tested it and produced sound! Not nice but you could hear the music. So I put the other tube and the same.I reviewed the connections and saw my stupid mistake. I corrected it and have rechecked everything but the amps don't work. It seems like the tube draws too much current so after a few seconds all the voltages drop a lot. I'm also getting a very low bias voltage. In summary it seems that the tube draws a lot of current but very little flows through it. I'm pretty sure that I killed the tubes with my "mistake" but how can I be sure?
I just purchased another set of tubes but I don't want to try them unless I'm more certain I won't kill these!
Any help will be appreciated
