Hi Cut-ThroatI am trying to get a handle on why you feel you have not got enough “headroomâ€. The system is not manifesting limited dynamics as a “break up slightlyâ€; is the system just not giving the impression of dynamics, or is it noticeably clipping? Or is it that you like all that your amps are, but want a change.
Hey, if a had a system that nice and still had a desire to change just for the sake of change, I would book myself in to a Buddhist retreat to learn more about the destructive effects of desire for material items. I may also learn to enjoy the music rather than be dissatisfied with the system in the process ;)
Seriously though, DRD amps seem very good, especially at their price; there may be better out there for you tho. I am guessing one of Thorsten’s DRD designs would be nice, if a little astringent for my taste (may suit you tho); parafeed would be a nice addition, and so on, and on…
